Vulnerability Assessment

Find the weaknesses in your security before someone else does, then fix the ones that matter most first.

Overview

Protecting your assets, information and operations means knowing where they are weak.

ITnIS vulnerability assessments identify weaknesses in your security infrastructure and give you clear, actionable findings to improve your overall security posture.

New security issues and product flaws are made public every day, and regular assessment is how you stay ahead of attackers.

Scanning process

Vulnerability scanning for your connected devices

Whether your company has three computers or thirty thousand, new software vulnerabilities are discovered every day, and you need to find and fix them to protect your data. Our scanning service is designed to give IT leaders the information they need.

Vulnerability scanning is a core part of any information security programme. It evaluates the security posture of the IP devices on your networks, wherever they are, for a single IP address or across the whole enterprise.

How scanning works

  1. Fingerprinting

We scan one or all of the IP addresses that support your business to identify every network-connected device: servers, workstations, routers, firewalls and so on.

  2. Device testing

Each device is put through a set of tests to find out whether vulnerabilities are present.

  3. Risk rating

Devices and the networks they connect to are rated by the number and severity of the vulnerabilities found.

  4. Alerts

When a vulnerability matches your predefined policies, the system sends an alert straight away so you can act on it.

A network that was secure last year may not be secure now.

Approach

Our approach

  1. Step 1: Examination

Our security analysts examine your physical and digital assets, including facilities, networks, systems and processes, to understand your environment and where it could be exposed.

  2. Step 2: Risk prioritisation

We rank each vulnerability by potential impact and likelihood, so the most critical risks are dealt with first and your resources go where they count.

  3. Step 3: Testing

We simulate attacks and security breaches using automated tools and manual testing, which finds problems that automated scans alone would miss.

  4. Step 4: Analysis

We look for the root cause of each vulnerability, taking into account both technical and human factors.
